Replacement Dinner Plates

"I accidentally broke one of our original Pfaltzgraff dinner plates and felt I had to replace it to keep our set whole. I ordered a set of four Heritage dinner plates. They're nice, but their color is not as white, they're slightly smaller in diameter and slightly thinner. . . so they aren't an exact match to what we have which is disappointing to me."

timelessness

"interesting 'replacements' for 30-year-old "originals" - - pattern is a match, color is an ivory-leaning-tint compared to a very-bright-white, and the center is 'deeper' - almost shallow-bowl-like. they are marvelous."

Heritage

"I have the Christmas plates for years and loved them. I decided to get the plain white for everyday"

My Nearest and Dearest has

"My Nearest and Dearest has an antique set of Pfaltzgraff dinner plates, cups, saucers, 3 sizes of bowls, and dessert/salad plates. Since the original set had some cracks and chips, I bought him 4 dinner plates and 4 bowls. I consider the quality excellent. Unfortunately, one of the bowls was broken in shipping. I'm not sure how to get a replacement."

Do not buy

"These plates are garbage. I bought 8 plates and all of them had some sort of flaw in the finish. Black specks, bubbles, etc. The company replaced the 8 plates with 8 more with the same issue. Phaltzgraff said the plates don't have flaws. They said that's the way they are. I have a whole set from years ago and they don't have these flaws. That's when they were made in the USA though, not China like they are today. Also, the plates aren't white, they are a tint of yellow compared to my original plates. Luckily Phaltzgraff was somewhat easy to work with and they eventually refunded my money for the plates."

Critique of current heritage products.

"The product quality has suffered drastically over the past forty years. We purchased eight dinner plates, and eight salad plates to replace our originals that are worn andost their shine. The glazing used now make the plates slightly honey colored and do not match our white. Also the sizes of the replacement plates are about an eighth of an inch different. This quality may be acceptable today, but it sure has suffered."

Pfaltzgraff quality declining?

"Two of the four dinner plates had significant defects in the glazing (runs and pits) in the package. The other two were ok, but not great. Pfaltzgraff responded quickly and sent two replacements. The replacements were better, but still not great. All the plates were all made in China. Pfaltzgraff needs to significantly improve quality control at its China plant or move production elsewhere. In contrast, the serving platter we ordered was perfect, just like other Pfaltzgraff items I ordered 10-30yrs ago."

Not as good as my original set

"The Heritage plates I purchased are very yellow compared to my original set that I was trying to match and the size is different. Also, one of the plates came in broken. I'm waiting for a refund or replacement."
