I bought this as a replacement and found that it is not nearly as heavy and sturdy as my older ones. When I stack them in the cabinet, you can very easily tell it is much thinner and not as heavy as the older ones.

The rim soup bowl is so versatile ....not only does it serve a generous portion of your favorite soup or chowder, it makes an awesome dish to serve any salad entree..luv it luv it have used these bowls for many years.
