I love the look of this dinnerware. However, it's incredibly easy to chip. I know it claims to be hand painted, and I would, therefore, expect some slight differences, but I didn't expect actual chips of missing glaze. All in all, I'll probably keep replacing :(

I fell in love with this pattern when I first saw it. The contrasting dinner and salad plates look wonderful together. I thought the price was very reasonable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by cookinlady Beautiful Photo in the Ad, but not the same one I received
The photo of this dinner plate is beautiful and perfect, but of course the ones I received were not. The painted poppies has 3 flowers, one red, one gold, and one white. I understand the reactive glaze method creates each piece to be different, and the imperfections are a part of the unique nature of each piece, and that's fine. However, when there is red or yellow dye well outside of the flowers or on the black background, it looks like some food has been spilled in a strange way and doesn't look like a normal variation. There was also small raised granules of sand that made the plate bumpy and rough in places, and that is a manufacturing defect from not having the machines clean before the glazing sealant over the ceramic. This type of quality assurance practices should be improved before I would recommend anyone invest in this particular line of dinnerware. Some of the other pieces turned out great, so I know they are capable of producing a good product once in a while.

Quality at first touch. I am amazed at the finish of these dishes. I've been so used to the "freebies" thrown in the cabinet, I'd forgot what quality felt like. I will keep this set complete as it is a color I feel I will never tire of. The size of the cereal/soup bowl is perfect for every use!
