Pfaltzgraff STONEWARE
STONEWARE MAINTENANCE and CARE
Pfaltzgraff stoneware is microwave, conventional oven, freezer, and dishwasher safe.
Stoneware actually locks in the warmth of cooked foods for serving.
Caution: Do not subject to sudden or extreme temperature changes.
Hot dishes can break if placed on a wet surface or handled with a wet cloth.
Do not place stoneware on direct heat, in the broiler, or under microwave browning elements.
Use a padded mitt when removing from oven or microwave.
STONEWARE CLEANING
To remove baked-on food, fill your Pfaltzgraff stoneware with warm water and detergent and soak, rather than submerge in water. Because our dinnerware is authentic stoneware, the "foot" is unglazed. When an item is submerged, water is absorbed through this foot. This creates uneven temperatures in the piece when it's heated, which could cause crazing or cracking.
Harsh abrasives should never be used to clean Pfaltzgraff. Our unique Pfaltzgraff Cleaner contains a mild silica that will remove any metal marks (light gray marks) that stainless flatware may leave. The Pfaltzgraff Cleaner is available at most Pfaltzgraff retailers and can also be ordered directly by calling 1-800-999-2811, or online by clicking this image:

Pfaltzgraff Stoneware Cleaner, 20 oz., 09591000, $7.99

Always wash and rinse cups after serving coffee or tea to avoid stains. Filling your cups with a solution of 50% liquid bleach and 50% water should remove any stains that do occur.
STONEWARE SETTING and SERVING
The bottom of authentic stoneware is sometimes rough. Sanding with a medium grade sand paper, or rubbing one piece against the bottom of another Pfaltzgraff piece will produce a smoother surface.
To avoid scratching other surfaces, always place stoneware on tablecloths, placemats or a trivet.

PFALTZGRAFF STAINLESS is EASY to care for
Stainless steel requires only a minimum of care to keep its bright, shiny look.
For everyday use, washing in an automatic dishwasher is perfectly safe. Always follow the care and use instructions.
True to its name, it "stains less" than other flatware materials, but it can scratch, rust or tarnish so it should be cleaned occasionally with a good quality metal cleaner. Call our Consumer Help Line 1-800-999-2811 for information about Pfaltzgraff Stainless Steel Cleaner.
Abrasive cleaners--even Pfaltzgraff Stoneware and Porcelain Cleaner--should never be used on stainless.
The cutlery edge of the non-serrated knife blades can be sharpened using a sharpening steel, but for best results, they should be taken to a professional.

PFALTZGRAFF GLASSWARE:
HOME LIGHTING:
USES:
Pfaltzgraff Home Lighting Glassware is designed to be used for home lighting.
NOTE: Special care must be taken with any product using open-flame, paraffin-based candles. We suggest the following care be taken:
CARE:
Wash before first use.
Handle with care when using or storing. Dropping or bumping may cause breakage.
Before lighting candle each time, trim wick to 1/4". If flame gets too high, trim wick.
Before putting a floating candle into a glass holder, pour water into the glass. The fuller the holder is, the higher the candle will float.
If too little water is used, the candles may not float properly and may burn incorrectly.
As the candle burns, the water level will decrease slightly due to evaporation.
CAUTION: Failure to follow these instructions can cause immediate or later breakage, which can result in personal injury or property damage.
Candleware may become hot during burning. DO NOT touch.
NEVER leave burning candle unattended.
Keep out of reach of children.
NEVER use near anything flammable.
DO NOT tilt glass holder to remove burning or recently extinguished candle, to prevent being burned by hot wax.
Always use on level, heat-resistant surface.
