I love the red flower on this plate and the size is perfect for cake, pie or bread. The red color "POPS" and is a very nice addition to the set which uses a plain brownish color for the cups and bowls.

I love this pattern, and I think I love these plates the most. The single red flower contrasts beautifully with the pale background and black border. The plate is perfect for a small salad, cake, hors d'oeuvres...anything small. Wonderful.

The square accent plate is a great addition to the Painted Poppies dinnerware set. Due to it's shape and size in contrast to the dinner plates, it makes a great serving dish for sides or for sliced roasts. The rectangular serving dish is large, and great for a large meal, but when serving two to four people, the square accent plate is sufficient. It's unusual shape adds dimension to the table setting and accompanies the round painted poppies dinner dishes well. That the square accent plate can go from the fridge to the oven or microwave allows me to prepare part of the meal ahead of time so that I can enjoy my meal along with my family or friends. I find that all of the Painted Poppy dinnerware extremely user friendly, and easy to clean. Colorful, unique shapes and sizes only enhances the meal experience.
