Love the pattern. I haven't had any trouble with scratches. Although 3 plates were broken, I am suppose to have replacements soon.

I have to say they are gorgeous dishes as long as you are not plannin on eating on them...I have had these dishes since December and every single Dinner and dessert plate is scratched. I am very careful with my dishes. I feel Pfaltgraff is not the name it used to be and these dishes are not top quality. I would also like to mention that Painted Poppie dishes are NOT U.S. made and that is upsetting as well. If you buy this set, you might just want them for display only because that is about all they are good for unless you dont care they get all scratched up from even casual use.

This set was a gift from a family member; Each piece is of intriguing decoration and lovely weight. Very sturdy and well made. The designs have variations; each piece is uniquely beautiful with slight variations in tone or glaze color, but all fits nicely as a set. The serving platter provides a nice accent; The vegetable bowl/larger serving bowl is HUGE! It makes a lovely fruit/vegetable display bowl on the countertop. Thanks for a lovely design!

Rated 5 out of 5 by diperttola mix this pattern with Taos
I bought this pattern and theTaos pattern to mix and match on my table.
Only thing I don't appreciate is the lack of accessory items that the older pfaltzgraff had such as a gravy boat, mixing bowls, etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Vango89 I love this but why isn't it made in the USA?
The look and feel of this set is beautiful. It is just what I've been searching for. My husband and I both had a set of the Pfaltzgraff Yorktown pattern that we've had for years and are now passing on to one of his sons. There are two things that I wish for with this Painted Poppies pattern, the first that it be made in the USA and the second that there would be more different types of serving pieces like the Yorktown pattern has.

We have had these dishes for 6 months now and we enjoy them more all the time. They have a good solid feel, plates are ample size, as are the bowls and cups. The colors blend so well with our decor without being overpowering. They have just a bit of whimsy that we love. I usually replace my dishes every couple of years but Painted Poppies will be in our cupboard for a long time.
