Virtually indestructible, melamine's light weight and sturdy construction is a natural for entertaining, especially outdoors. Top rack dishwasher safe. Not suitable for microwave use. BPA free. I ordered four of these melamine mugs to go with my Patio Garden melamine dishes. I also ordered the matching acrylic glasses. These are generously sized mugs, very sturdy, and are top rack dishwasher safe. Don't microwave melamine, of course.
I suggest you compare the cost of ordering some individual pieces vs the different kinds of sets offered. Depending on what sale is on, it may be cheaper to order some pieces separately as opposed to the larger sets, as was the case when I ordered them.
Patio Garden is a bit pricey for melamine, even on sale, but it is beautiful, durable, and easy care, seems to be top quality, and I'm very pleased with my purchases of it.
