The paint on these dishes was streaked with beige streaks...had to return the entire set

It took me an entire year to find new dinnerware to replace my age-old Grapevine. What a mistake purchasing Scarlett. In the past months I've had a plate, bowl, salad plate replaced because of chipping and poor painting. The glaze on the bowls crack after a few months. The black rim has white spots where the paint is gone. We cover those with a black Sharpie when we have company over. So besides the very poor quality (Made in China) this pattern is Earthenware and is so HOT when it comes out of the microwave that we have to keep potholders handy. Everyone in the family has had severe finger burns. I've never seen anything come out of the microwave this hot. It is burning. One of the plates burned a ring into a wooden table I have after a simple reheat. I highly recommend you find a different pattern and NOT earthenware. Fortunately I only bought a 4-piece set to be sure I liked it, well, I loved it and can't use it. Now finding a new pattern. What a shame. Lifetime Brands needs to do a better job of quality control.

I was happy that the dishes were just as pictured. Bold colors, not to heavy, but not to light either. I wanted something for everyday and they are perfect. I like the size of the fruit bowl which is sold seperately, the bowl that comes with the set is just a little big, but I like the shape. They came very well wrapped for protection from breaking, however, one cup was broken and they very quickly replaced it with just a phone call. Overall very happy.

I have enjoyed displaying my Scarlet dinnerware in my china cabinet and have received compliments on how nice the dishes look.
