This pattern is absolutely beautiful, however it chips very easily and is not painted underneath so once it is chipped you can no longer use it. I receive numerous compliments, however if I knew then what I know now I would forego the beauty of the pattern for durability. I do not think I am any more rough on my dishes than anyone else and this has never occured with any other dishes I have owned. I would not recommend these dishes for every day use. I am now stuck with a set I have to continually purchase new pieces for.
