I've been putting dried herbs, spice and any other nicknack in these beauties. It's saving a ton of space and looks colorful on the counter wall. I've been hand washing them wish mild soap to avoid any warping or damage from the dishwasher. The see through top is a plastic liner, not glass. I haven't noticed any change in flavor due to the magnetism. I don't see any of the spices sticking to the bottom due to the magnetism, so I think I'm safe.
