I wanted a summery, break resistant set for casual outdoor use. Patio Garden melamine is very pretty, colors are soft but rich and pieces are generously sized. I also ordered the matching melamine mugs and acrylic glasses. These all come through the dishwasher fine. Cannot be used in a microwave, of course. I like them so much I even use them indoors at times. These would be fantastic for everyday dishes if you have small children, very sturdy. A bit pricey, but these are very nice for a melamine set! Pleased with these purchases.
